STOEVA, I. and E. PENCHEV, 2005. Determining the relative significance of the quality indices in a group of common winter wheat varieties. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 11:695-700

During the period 2000-2002 a technological assessment of 11 common wheat varieties of high quality and different yield potential was made with the aim to further incorporate them in the breeding program of DAI - General Toshevo. A significant role of the year conditions and of the genotype x year interaction was established in the general variation of the investigated quality characters of the varieties.
The method of principal components used in the evaluation of grain quality of the studied group of varieties determined that sedimentation value, bread loaf, valorimeric value and content of wet gluten in 70 % flour were the indices with the highest relative significance. Varieties Karat and Milena are more stable genotypes with high values with regard to PC1, and with regard to PC2 these were varieties Sadovo1, Zlatina, Agluka and Enola.
