Abstract

TSVETKOV, St., K. TSVETKOV, I. VASSILEV and G. MIHOVA, 2004. Wintering oat Ressor 1 (Avena sativa L.) - a new original variety, selected after natural cold treatment. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 10: 675-678

Following the severe winter of 1994-1995 in the region of Dobroudja, a new wintering oat variety Ressor 1 was developed after natural cold injury and selected survived plants. It has a stem with 14 cm shorter than the standard Dunav 1 and demonstrated high resistance to lodging. This is one of the few varieties possessing high resistance to powdery mildew and loose smut, as well as very good resistance to stem rust. In the State yield testing during 2001-2002 it exceeded the productivity standard with 9.4 %. It was registered as an original standard in IASAS during 2004 and was included in-group A of the National Varietal List. It is a productivity and quality standard in State Yield Testing since 2004.
