Abstract

VASSILEV, G. N. and H. S. LOZANOVA, 2003, Cytokinin activity of 2-(β-ketopropyl or phenacyl)-mercaptobenzimidazols and their oximes. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 9: 735–736

New group of biologically active substances with high cytokinin activity is discoverted. The cytokinin activity is determined by the Amaranthus bioassay. The substances 2-(β-ketopropyl or phenacyl)-mercaptobenzamidazols and their oximes have a distinct cytokinin activity which reveals a much higher cytokinin activity than the non-purine standard DPU (N, N'-diphenylurea)

Key words: 2-(β-ketopropyl or phenacyl)-mercaptobenzamidazols and their oximes, DPU (N, N'-diphenylurea), kinetin (6-furfurylaminopurine), BAP (6-benzylaminopurine), cytokinin activity, Amaranthus caudathus.
