Synthesis of Cyclopentanespiro-5-(2,4-Dithiohydantoin) and in vitro Insecticidal Activity against Cladius pectinicornis

This paper present a method for synthesis of cyclopentanespiro-5-(2,4-dithiohydantoin), which lead to obtaining product of higher yield, compared to already known data in the literature. The compound was prepared by reaction of the cyclopentanespiro-5-hydantoin with P4S10 and hexamethyldisiloxane. The structure of obtained product was verified via 1H, 13C NMR, IR and UV -Vis spectroscopy. Standard in vitro filter paper discs test with Cladius pectinicornis were conducted in order to be investigated eventual insecticidal activity of compound against this pest on oil yielding roses (Rosa damascena Mill).
