Regeneration of Plants from Initial Calluses of Wood Betony (Stachys officinalis (L.) Trev.)

The focus of our research is to investigate growth media, in which abundant callus formation and partial direct organ formation have been achieved from various explants of Stachys officinalis (L.) Trev. We succeeded in regenerating plants from initial calluses, which have been formed in plants' base while they were multiplied in vitro. In growth medium, where 0.2 mg/l BAP (6-benzilaminopurine) participates, we achieved an indirect formation of organs from leaf blades (18.8%) and leaf stalks (5.4%).
