Variation of Composition and Properties of the Milk for Control Day

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to characterize the variation of composition and properties of milk for control day and to establish the relationship between them at two Bulgarian dairy sheep breeds. The examination was carried out on 50 sheep on the second lactation from the two dairy breeds - Black head Pleven and newfound Bulgarian milk breed. In the days of milk control were taken individual milk samples of sheep. At newfound Bulgarian milk breed were obtained significant, with difference values (from considerable to high) and signs (positive and negative) correlation coefficients between the milk for control day, protein and lactose content (r= - 0.63*** and r= 0.56***), and the milk for control day and daily yield of fat and protein ( r= 0.55*** and r= 0.90***). At newfound Bulgarian milk breed were obtained significant, with difference values (from moderate to high) and signs (positive and negative) correlation coefficients between the total solids, % and the solids nonfat, fat, protein and lactose content (r= 0.56***, r= 0.90***, r=0.68*** and r=-0.37*). The correlation coefficient between the solids nonfat content and protein content was significant, positive and high (r=0.79***). At Black head Pleven breed were obtained significant, positive and high values of the correlation coefficients between the milk for control day and daily yield of fat, protein and lactose (r= 0.93***, r= 0.96*** and r= 0.96***). At Black head Pleven breed were obtained significant, with difference values (from moderate to high) and signs (positive and negative) correlation coefficients between the total solids, % and the solids nonfat, fat, protein and lactose content (r= 0.62***, r= 0.91***, r=0.65*** and r=-0.30*). The correlation coefficient between the solids nonfat content and protein content was significant, positive and high (r=0.87***). The daily yield of fat, protein and lactose on the first control was with 38.8 g and, 37g, 29.8 g and 31 g, 32 g and 25.5 g significant more than on the fourth control for newfound Bulgarian milk breed and Black head Pleven breed respectively.
