Abstract

METIN TUNA, CAFER OLCAYTO SABANCI and AVI GOLAN-GOLDHIRSH, 2004. Evaluation of some agronomic characters of natural orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) populations collected from thrace region of Turkey. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 10: 57-64

Fifty-seven orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) populations collected from 19 different sites of Thrace region, Turkey, were evaluated for 11 characters in a two years survey. The variation among populations was analysed by using multivariate analyses. Productivity characters, fresh weight and hay yield per plant, together with phenological characters such as heading and flowering dates were found to be major sources of variation among orchardgrass populations.
