KRUSTEVA, M., 2003. Comparative assessment of the methodolgy concerning the early milk yield’s prognostication of cows. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 9: 369–374
The linear regression method offered here is more successful for planning the next productivity than for the early prognostication of milk yield of animals, because it shows the condition of the cow in a fixed moment under fixed circumstances, but does not characterize the real constitutional type.
The selection of cows by their own productivity requires a longer period of time, while the prognostication of milk yield by some biochemical indexes diminishes this period. The prognostication of milk yield at the age of 6 months on the basis of glicemical coefficient (G/C) enables the early selection and the breeding of animals according to their productivity. The combination of this method with the determination of milkiness of the heifers during the first 100 lactation days brings to fast supplying of high productive herds.
