The chemical structure and growth-regulating activity of some derivatives of biphenyl
biphenyl

where Y can be hydrogen, fluorine, bromine, iodine, amino, hydroxy, carboxy, nitro, sulphonic, methyl, methoxy or triethylaminodithiocarbamate group.and X can be hydrogen, bromine, amino, methyl, methoxy, nitro, hydroxy or triethylaminodithiocarbamate group are investigated. Fluorenone and dibenzopiridazine are also investigated.
Some of the compounds demonstrate high selective herbicidal activity. All tested substances manifest high stimulating activity to the monocotyledonous plant wheat and consequently are of good perspective as stimulating agents in the monocotyledonous cultures, predominantly to the wheat.
