Morphological description of mulberry forms takes main place in methods for mulberry vegetative resources investigation. On the basis of Sericultural Experiment station Vratza`s mulberry germplasm studying and generally acknowledged methods for mulberry description an actual methods for mulberry forms description is working out. Mulberry morphological descriptor includes 5 major groups: 1. General plant habit; 2. Characteristics of branches and shoots; 3. Characteristics of buds; 4. Characteristics of leaves. 60 characters from these groups were analyzed. The influence of environment on phenotypic expression was avoided by growing the material under uniform climatic and adaphic conditions.
The main mulberry morphological characters are illustrated with figures.
