Cytogenetic Investigation on Newborn Rabbits with Congenital Malformation

Abstract

It was carried out karyotypic investigation of 9 newborn rabbits with congenital malformation, belonging to New Zealand white and Californian breeds. In seven of animals were found polyploid cells, with a range of individual variations from 0.46 to 5.86%. The observation of receiving data shows presence of connection between malformation of hind legs and some percentage polyploid cells, whereas in animals with malformation of forelegs only were not noticed any polyploid cells.
