Abstract

DIMITROVA, M., T. GEORGIEVA and E. LALEVA, 2001. Possibilities for chemical weed control in the cotton. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 7: 601-604

In the period 1998 – 2000 field experiments with Izoxaflutol 75%, Oxadiargil 80%, Pendimetalin 33%, Metolachlor 93% and Prometrin 50% in cotton were carried out at the experimental field of the Cotton and Durum Wheat Research Institute, Chirpan on leached chernozem soil type. High biological efficiency of tested herbicides (80% – 90%) was established as well as excellent selectivity to cotton of 1 grade on the scale of the European Weed Research Society with the exception of Izoxaflutol 75% (grade 2-4 on the EWRS scale).
From the factors tested (year, herbicide) the years have the strongest effect on the yield (η2 = 0.93).
