Abstract

NIKOLOVA, V., 2001. Some morphological peculiarities of dihaploid lines of pickling cucumbers and possibility for their inclusion in the heterosis breeding. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 7: 128-131

For the establishment of possibility for application of dihaploidy in the heterosis breeding, some morphological characteristics and sex type were studied in two dihaploid (DH) lines pickling cucumbers (No45 and No51). F1 hybrids of these DH lines with T19 line, F2 and backcross progenies (BC1P2) were cultivated and evaluated.
Five haploid plants (n = x = 7) were determined and estimated in F1 progeny of DH line 51 with line K2.

Key words: cucumber, gynogenesis, haploidy, dihaploid lines
Abbreviations: DH – dihaploid line, BC1P2 – backcross progeny
