Study on the Preservation Terms of Nondiapausing Silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) Eggs at Low Temperature

The preservation of nondiapausing silkworm eggs at a temperature of 4 °C for 20, 30 and 40 days was studied.
It was established that the preservation of nondiapausing eggs of the polyvoltine race Bonde 517 and bivoltine race KK at a temperature of 4 °C for 30 days does not reflect negatively on the average values of the indexes studied, namely: cocoon and cocoon shell weight and raw cocoon yield per one box of silkworm eggs.
The maintenance of the polyvoltine race Bonde 517 in the conditions of Bulgaria can be limited to 2 generations per year.
