Abstract

ALEXANDROV, V., 1999. Incidence of charcoal rot of sunflower caused by Sclerotium bataticola Taub. in Bulgaria. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 5: 867-870

A survey was launched during the period of 1990-1996 on the incidence of the charcoal rot in South Bulgaria and some regions of North Bulgaria.
The charcoal rot was found in all of the surveyed fields of South and North Bulgaria with average percent of affect of 16.1% to 42.8%.
The sorts and hibrids sunflower, growing at this period, showed sensitivity towards the disease, but we spotted small differences in their reaction to the pathogen.
