The incidence of mastitis-metritis-agalactia (MMA) syndrome has been studied in Landrace sows, bred under industrial conditions characterised by elevated floor, dry feeding and 35 days suckling period. The studies have been performed twice weekly in the period January-March 1996. From 426 sows 24.4% manifested the 4 forms of the MMA syndrome and 31.7% showed hypo- and agalactia and delayed uterine involution. Treatment of diseased sows have been performed with a following preparations: a/ Jungtier-suspension Veyx-forte, b/ Depotocin, c/ Depedin veyx. Three experimental groups of animals were treated according to various schedules. The single application of Jungtier-suspension Veyx-forte resulted in complete recovery in 71.4% of treated animals while in 28.6% only a partial recovery was obtained. The clinical efficacy the combination Jungtier-suspension.Veyx-forte and Depotocin was, however, 100%.The average healing effect by application of different preparations is 57.1%.
