A study has been carried out on the morhological traits of the udder in buffalo cows crosses F1, R1 and R2 generation from the newly created buffalo population in Bulgaria.
The factors number of lactation and generation significantly influence (P<0.05. P<0.01 and P<0.001) the morphological traits characterizing the size of the udder and teats, whereas the factor technology of milking hardly influences the studied traits.
It has been ascertained that the buffalo cows at third and more lactations have the highest LS estimations of the effect number of lactation, of the traits characterizing the size of the udder and teats and of the distance between them compared to buffalo cows at first and second lactation.
The buffalo cows crosses R2 generation have the highest LS- estimations of the effect of the generation of the morphological traits determining the size of the udder and the lowest LS estimations of the traits determining the size of the teats.

Key words: population, udder, teats, volume of udder
